Port Everglades Fort Lauderdale Cruise Terminal - Port Everglade Cruise Parking - Cruise Port Hotel
Port Everglades terminal Port Everglades is the Fort Lauderdale area cruise port. The 11 cruise terminals handle millions of happy passengers every year. Access to Port Everglades terminal is extremely easy by either highway or air.
All passengers departing from Port Everglades will enter the port through a security check-point. Everyone in the vehicle over the age of 18 must be prepared to present a picture ID as well as travel documents for the departing passengers.
Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport is located less than two miles from Port Everglades. Leave a minimum of 45 minutes for the transfer process to allow for time to claim your luggage at the airport and to fill out forms during check-in at the cruise terminal.
Enjoy Fort Lauderdale, before or after your cruise. The greater metro area includes 23 miles of sunny Florida shoreline.
Port Everglades Parking and Driving Directions
Port Everglades' primary entrance is from I-595, whose eastern terminus is the port's entrance road, Eller Drive. I-595 connects with I-95, which runs along the entire east coast of the United States, as well as the Florida Turnpike, Sawgrass Expressway and I-75. The port also can be accessed at the intersection of State Road 84 (east) and US1 or by taking US1 or A1A to the 17th Street Causeway in Fort Lauderdale and turning south on Eisenhower Boulevard.
Cruise terminals 1, 2, and 4 are located at the north end of the port. Cruise terminals 18,19,21,22,24,25,26, and 29 are at the Midport facilities located in the center section of the port. Confirm your terminal assignment before leaving for Port Everglades. This information can be found in your travel documents or obtained directly from the cruise line.
Directional signs with ship names, terminal assignments and arrows are located throughout the port and are updated daily. Read these signs carefully when arriving at Port Everglades because they will guide you directly to you ship. On busy days, flyers will be distributed at security checkpoints directing passengers to their ship.
Convenient parking for private automobiles is available at both the Northport and Midport parking garages. All garages are well illuminated, security-patrolled and provide handicapped parking with unimpeded access to crosswalks and elevators. Cruises leaving from Cruise Terminals 1, 2, or 4 use the 2,500-space Northport Garage, which is next to all Northport cruise terminals. The 2,000-space Midport Parking Garage is located within walking distance of most Midport Cruise terminals. Complimentary shuttle bus service is provided between the garage and Port Everglades Terminal 18 and 29.

Educational outreach event introduces future leaders to career fields in transportation industries
(DFW AIRPORT, TX – December 9, 2011) – More than four thousand students turned out today for the 2011 Aviation & Transportation Career Expo today at DFW International Airport. The Expo, one of the largest educational events in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, represents an opportunity for students to learn about potential careers in a variety of aviation and transportation fields. Most students in attendance came from the Dallas Independent School District and the Fort Worth Independent School District, but some came from as far away as Houston to take part in the eighth annual Expo.
“The Expo represents a tremendous opportunity for our airport and our transportation industry partners to show students some great career options they might not have considered,” said Jeff Fegan, CEO of DFW. “The hands-on exhibits here are really engaging for kids, and we are pleased to provide an opportunity for them to learn.”
Staged inside an American Airlines maintenance hangar at DFW, the Expo was highlighted by a “Man vs. Plane” aircraft pull contest with teams of exhibitors racing to pull a 140,000 pound American Airlines MD-80 for distances of 25 and 80 feet. Students also spent time in flight simulators, watched mechanics assembly races, took part in a social media zone featuring a live Twitter feed, and toured an array of aircraft on display outside the hangar.
DFW Airport, American Airlines, the FAA, and Tarrant County College joined forces to organize the Expo. The Expo is a major component of DFW Airport’s goal to provide educational outreach in the Dallas/Fort Worth community.
“DFW and its Expo partners are committed to educating and inspiring our youth about the myriad of great opportunities available to them,” said Mary Jo Polidore, vice president for public affairs at DFW. “It’s inspiring for us too, because the faces we see are so eager to learn and grow.”
The Expo featured over 60 exhibits, including the CAE SimuFlite, the Civil Air Patrol, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, FlightSafety International, the Texas Air National Guard, the U.S. Navy, the University of North Texas and the University of Texas at Arlington. For a full list of exhibitors please visit the Expo website at www.dfwcareerexpo.com.

OPERATED BY: The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, under a lease with the City of New York since June 1, 1947. In 2004, the Port Authority and the City of New York concluded an agreement that ensures the Agency's continued operation of JFK and LaGuardia airports through 2050.
LOCATION: On Jamaica Bay in the southeastern section of Queens County, New York City. The airport is located 15 miles by highway from midtown Manhattan.
SIZE: JFK covers 4,930 acres, including 880 acres in the Central Terminal Area. The airport has more than 30 miles of roadway.
INVESTMENT: About $150 million was expended on original construction. The Port Authority has invested about $6.1 billion in the airport.
EMPLOYMENT AND ECONOMIC IMPACT: JFK contributes about $31 billion in economic activity to the New York/New Jersey region, generating approximately 233,000 and about $11.3 billion in wages and salaries. Roughly 35,000 people are employed at the airport.
TERMINALS: JFK has seven operating airline terminals, surrounded by a dual ring of peripheral taxiways. More than 125 aircraft gates serve the terminals. The Central Terminal Area also includes a central heating and air-conditioning plant.
AIRTRAIN JFK: Opened in 2003, the light-rail service AirTrain connects JFK with the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) and New York City subway and bus lines. At the airport, AirTrain provides fast, free connections between terminals, rental car facilities, hotel shuttle areas, and parking lots. In 2010, 5.3 million passengers used AirTrain JFK. Recent improvements include digital signage; expanded closed-circuit televisions; track, switch, and third-rail heaters to improve reliability in cold weather; and a digital audio recording system for monitoring critical communications in real time.
AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER: The 321-foot tower, which opened in 1994, includes state-of-the-art communications, radar and wind-shear alert systems.
PARKING: The airport offers customers over 18,000 parking spaces in a variety of places, including: multi-level parking garages, surface spaces in the Central Terminal Area, a long-term parking and cell phone lot.
CARGO: JFK is one of the world's leading international air cargo centers. Two cargo facilities totaling 430,000 square feet of warehouse and office space offer the latest in cargo-facility design. The airport has more than one million square feet of office and warehouse space dedicated to broker, freight forwarder and container freight station operators who do business within the NY/NJ region.
RUNWAYS/TAXIWAYS: Total runway length is nine miles. Taxiways total 25 miles in length. All runways have high-intensity runway edge lighting, centerline and taxiway exit lighting and are grooved to improve skid resistance and minimize hydroplaning. A 500-foot by 150-foot aircraft arrestor bed has been installed at the end of Runway 4R, the first such arrestor bed in the world. In addition, the Bay Runway reconstruction project expanded 13R-31L from 150 to 200 feet wide in 2011.
Numerous parking options are available at JFK.
